Fishing
A Trout fishing trip on the Otunui paddleboat is a great way to spend time with friends or family. Charter the boat, gather your mates and tackle and get away for a relaxing trip on Lake Maraetai. Spend the day or make a weekend of it, it's up to you. Fish Lake Maraetai is well known for its Trout. Rud, catfish, eel and Brown and Rainbow Trout are plentiful. An Easten Region fishing license is required but there are no size or number of tackle restrictions on the Lake. So you can fish to your heart's content. Catering We can arrange to fire up the BBQ or organise food if arranged in advance. Let us know and we can organise pizza or other items from local businesses and we'll make sure to stock up the fridge. Seating The Otunui is licensed to carry up to 48 passengers. We have seating in the main salon and seating or standing on the fore or stern deck. Commentary The scenery, coupled with the Skipper's commentary of the area's history, birds, fish, native and exotic forests and landscape features, is sure to entertain.
